Workshops and Mini-Courses at Teacher Conferences:

Peggy Fersner, Assistant Professor in the Bioenvironmental Engineering Department at N.C. A & T State University, and Larry Greene, President of President of R. L. Greene Surveying in Marion, NC, and former Chairman of the NC State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors and former President of the NCSS, taught a 90 minute session at the NC Department of Public Instruction Math Leadership Retreat on July 22, 2004.

Mr. Greene spoke about the Land Surveying profession, and Ms. Fersner taught surveying directions, bearings and azimuths.

The Foundation plans to offer a longer workshop on these subjects. Such a session would also cover how surveyors use trigonometry and geometry to fit a curve to connect intersecting streets.

The Foundation also plans to offer a session on the Global Positioning System.

Request a Course:

The Foundation will be pleased to arrange a course at your statewide or regional conference or training day. Please use the request form above, or email us. Please give the date and location of your event.

Hands-On Surveying Training:

A teacher has asked us if we could put on a course lasting several days that would introduce teachers to various aspects of the land surveying profession. We would like to gauge the interest in such a course. It would probably be in the summer at N.C. A & T State University. Please let us know if you might be interested in such a course.
