SCHOLARSHIPS
The NCSS Education Foundation offers scholarships for students to study surveying at a college or university. The scholarships are funded with the revenue from the permanent Scholarship Endowment. The Scholarship Endowment money is in separate accounts from the Foundation's general fund, and is accounted for separately from the general fund.
Scholarships are for study in a Bachelor of Science in Surveying, Bachelor of Science in Geomatics, Associate of Applied Science in Surveying Technology, or similar degree.
Applicant must have been a legal resident of the State of North Carolina for the previous twelve months, must demonstrate a genuine interest in Land Surveying in the State of North Carolina as a profession, must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or better, and must meet the Scholarship Rules.
In addition to the application below, the following items should be submitted to NCSS Education Foundation, 112 E Persimmon St., Unit 1055, Youngsville, NC 27596. Or emailed to info@ncsurveyors.com.
A Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application. (This application is required for the applicant’s financial need to be considered. It is optional for applicants who do not desire to have their finances considered.)
A written statement of your goals, ambitions, interests in Land Surveying, and specific intentions upon graduation.
A written statement of your previous experience in or association with the Land Surveying profession. (see rules for details)
Certified transcripts from each educational institution listed on the scholarship application. (The transcript must be mailed directly from the institution.)
Recommendations from teachers or Professional Land Surveyors. (These must be mailed directly from the recommending person to the Foundation, and should not be included in the application package.)
Applications are accepted January 1st – March 15th
